Our Roots
Our work didn't begin in voice AI
Back in 2024, our journey started at Carnegie Mellon’s AI labs. Rhythm was building on-premise Large Language Model (LLM) infrastructure for global financial firms. The recurring challenge was obvious: highly regulated enterprises wanted to leverage AI, but they couldn't risk data leaks, compliance breaches, or hallucinations using standard cloud APIs.
After successfully scaling that secure, on-premise infrastructure to over 30 financial institutions and reaching an exit, a more complex bottleneck emerged. Enterprises had figured out how to secure their text data, but their voice channels were still manual, inefficient, and expensive. They needed voice AI that possessed human-like conversational fluidity, but operated safely within the strict compliance guardrails of the financial sector.
That is not a problem you can solve with just a clever algorithm—you need deep infrastructure engineering and massive-scale data architecture. In 2025, Alek, Mehmet, and Derek joined forces with Rhythm to tackle this exact gap, and Lupitor was formed.
